Hints for Horsedoppler Handicappers
All reports are based on the "Racing Guide" report. These reports all have actual saddlecloth #'s and overnight scratches are removed. If a saddlecloth # has a "$" in front of it, that marks a recent claim without a win for the new trainer. If the saddlecloth # has a ":" after it, that horse is a first time starter. If the saddlecloth # has a "." after it, that is a tip that this horse has run its best ratings at this distance. All this information takes just seconds to consider.
SPEED, PRESS, STALK, and CLOSE columns represent best ratings each horse has achieved within the last 90 days in those running positions. In SPRINT races, all route ratings are removed. In DIRT races, all turf races are removed. This concept lets you compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges.
The WORKS column highlights horses which have worked within 60 days against a field of similar works totaling at least 18. Anything less is not shown. 99 is the best rating a horse can get.
The RIDER, @DIST, and TURF columns represent best ratings each horse has achieved within a 365 day search.
The TRACK column represents the best rating each horse has achieved at todays track within the last 90 days. If the race is on turf, the rating is on that tracks turf course.
The SHOW% column highlights horse most likely to hit the board based on running style and current form. These horses have shown recent ability to finish well down the stretch and should be considered in exactas, trifectas, superfectas, and hi five bets.
The PURSE column represents the purse value of each horses best effort in the SPEED, PRESS, STALK, or close column. The purse of the race is located just above this column.
The BOLD ratings in the SPEED, PRESS, STALK, CLOSE, RIDER, @DIST, TURF, and TRACK columns represent efforts where the horse was either drawing away from the field or closing the gap towards the winner of a race. The BOLD ratings in the WORKS, SHOW%, and PURSE columns highlights the single best rating in the column. For those of you who use the Dual Reports and the Angle Plays, the horses with the legs wide open are BOLD ratings.
These reports were designed over 20 years ago and have passed the test of time with mild changes here and there. The concept is to show you information which is relevent to todays race. If a race has little or no information on alot of horses, the tip would be to skip the race. As always, we appreciate any and all comments from those of you who use our products and those who would like to learn more about it.
